How to Write a Social Media Campaign Report for Nigerian Clients
A useful social media campaign report should show what you spent, what work you completed, how people responded and what you will change next. Keep purchased engagement, platform advertising, organic activity and confirmed business outcomes separate so a large count does not hide a weak result.
For a Nigerian social media manager or reseller, the report also needs a clear naira budget and a record of any service orders. You can explain these details in a short document. The aim is to help the client make the next decision, rather than fill pages with screenshots.
Start with the question the campaign was meant to answer
Write the reporting period, client, platform and agreed objective at the top. Use exact dates and a consistent time zone. A report for a product launch needs a different focus from one reviewing a month of routine content.
Refer back to the approved scope. If the objective was to generate enquiries about a new collection, explain what you count as a relevant enquiry. A question about available sizes or delivery may qualify; an unrelated emoji does not necessarily qualify.
Agree on that definition before comparing periods. Our social media client brief checklist helps you record the original goal, spending limit and reporting work. The report should evaluate the work actually agreed, including any authorised changes.
Separate spending from activity and outcomes
Use three simple sections. Spending records where the money went. Activity records what happened on the platform or in an order. Outcomes record the business actions you can support with evidence. These sections can be connected without being treated as interchangeable.
Show content production, your management fee, advertising spend and purchased service costs separately where they apply. State which figures are actual expenses and which amounts remain unspent. Do not treat the entire approved budget as money already used.
For OgaViral orders, retain the exact service description, quantity, cost and order reference in your working records. Review the current catalogue before quoting future work, because an old report is not a current price list.

Use a small report table that answers real questions
Choose fields that fit the campaign. You do not need every metric available in a dashboard. A small retailer may need product enquiries and confirmed orders. A creator may need a closer look at viewing behaviour and relevant feedback.
| Section | Include | Explain |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | Goal, dates, accounts and approved work. | What this report covers. |
| Spend | Actual naira costs, fees and remaining budget. | What was used and what remains available. |
| Content | Published items and relevant changes. | What you produced or revised. |
| Promotion | Advertising and purchased services listed separately. | Which activity was paid for and how. |
| Response | Available platform measures and relevant enquiries. | What those measures establish and what they do not. |
| Business outcomes | Confirmed orders or other agreed actions. | How the information was verified. |
| Next decision | One or two changes with an owner and review date. | What happens next. |
A worked example with clear limits
Suppose a fashion seller approves ₦30,000 for a small campaign. In this hypothetical example, ₦10,000 covers content production, ₦5,000 covers management and ₦10,000 covers platform advertising. The remaining ₦5,000 has not been spent. These are illustrative amounts, not OgaViral prices.
The business records 12 relevant enquiries and three confirmed orders during the reporting period. Report those figures with their source, such as the seller's enquiry log and order records. Do not claim the advertising caused all three orders unless your evidence supports that conclusion.
If you divide the ₦10,000 advertising spend by the 12 recorded enquiries, the result is about ₦833 per recorded enquiry. Label it as a descriptive calculation. It is not proof that every enquiry came from the adverts, and it excludes production and management costs.
A second calculation using the full ₦25,000 spent gives about ₦2,083 per recorded enquiry. Neither number measures profit. Showing the calculation and its limits is more useful than choosing whichever result looks better.
Compare like periods and name the metric
Use the same reporting window when comparing campaigns, and note important differences. A product launch with a discount is not directly comparable with a quiet week when key sizes were unavailable. Record these conditions beside the numbers.
Keep platform metric names intact. Do not rename views as people, reach as buyers or clicks as sales. If a platform does not provide a measure for your account, say it is unavailable rather than replacing it with an estimate.
For a YouTube campaign, the audience retention report can help you examine where viewers continue, skip or leave. YouTube notes that retention data typically takes one to two days to process. Avoid treating an immediate reading as final.
Describe service delivery without inflating its meaning
Where purchased services formed part of the approved work, list them separately from organic activity. A completed quantity does not prove that you gained interested buyers. Do not present purchased engagement as customer endorsement, natural audience growth or evidence of product demand.
Keep delivery status tied to the order record and check the applicable OgaViral terms before explaining a cancellation or balance adjustment. A service that has started is not necessarily complete. An unresolved order belongs in a clearly labelled outstanding-work section.
Platform rules still apply to the underlying activity. For example, YouTube prohibits artificial engagement and warns that a hired promoter's actions can affect a channel. A report should not describe prohibited activity as an approved growth method.

Finish with a decision someone can act on
Choose a recommendation that follows from the evidence. If enquiries repeatedly concerned delivery, clarify delivery information. If viewers left before the demonstration, test a faster opening. If stock prevented purchases, solve availability before increasing spending.
State who owns the change and when you will review it. Keep personal customer information out of shared screenshots, and retain private evidence securely. Before the next campaign, update the brief and spending limit. If you use OgaViral, review the service details from your account and keep each new order reference with its report.
